The Many Benefits of Condo Living in Toronto

There is nothing like living in the gorgeous city of Toronto. As a long time resident of this city, I know first-hand how beautiful and vibrant it is. In fact, Toronto is the most diversified economy of any city-region in North America.[1] No other place can compare to the entertainment, culture, food and nightlife of Toronto and add to that owning a piece of the city by purchasing a condo - you have got a winning recipe.

There are so many benefits to condo living in Toronto, I would like to share with you my 3 favourites!

#1- Ownership in general - Toronto is such a large city that is developing by leaps and bounds every year. We are so diverse in culture, that you can choose to make that the key part of the equation when choosing a condo.  You could live steps from Little Italy, the high fashion area of Yorkville, the fanfare of St. Lawrence Market, be amidst the nightlife in the Entertainment district,  the serene living at the Waterfront just to name a few of the areas to choose from. There are a number of condominiums located in the suburbs as well, you just have to decide what suits your lifestyle & pocket book.  You will never run out of things to do, as Toronto is one of the most vivacious cities in the world. By owning your own condo you will start creating your own wealth in this top-notch city as well as enjoying all that it has to offer.

#2 - Maintenance Free - This aspect is particularly valuable to young professionals and empty nesters.  Imagine, while enjoying the privileges of home ownership, those of us who don't have the time or the inclination to be bothered with snow removal, roof repairs, gardening, equipment maintenance such as gym equipment, swimming pool & in some cases furnace equipment, will have to worry not, because these issues and costs are covered in your maintenance fee.  This fee is a monthly charge, but do remember that it is shared between the other residents AND in most cases includes a large portion of your utilities.  This is also an excellent consideration if you are very keen on budgeting, you will appreciate that with this aspect, most of your monthly costs are consistent.

#3- Living in a community- Living in a detached home can sometimes be lonely, even though you have neighbours most people just drive right up to the home walk in and shut the door until the next morning. When you are a condo resident, you will be able to enjoy the common areas of your building as a joint owner. If you are the type that likes folks around, there are a number of common areas that will allow you to interact with other residents such as the fitness room, swimming pool and even meeting in the mail room, I also have had some of the best connections just in the elevator.  Most condo corporations organize social gatherings that allow you to get to know your neighbours, these events sometimes take the form of "town hall meetings" or my favourite - summer bbqs!

The best way to find a Toronto condo that suits you is to find a great real estate agent that knows about condo living, like myself. Consider the benefits of owning a piece of the beautiful city of Toronto.
