The Spring Market has arrived - about one month early. As reported by the Toronto Real Estate Board, sales in February were 7300 units - a 77% increase over February of '09. Sales were higher than those in '07 and '08 and were in fact a record. |

Unfortunately, this year, Canada Day is also the start ofsomething a little less inspiring: the provincial government's new Harmonized SalesTax (HST) - not exactly a nice way to celebrate our nation's birthday. |

March 16, 2010 -- The Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) reported a strong result for existing home sales and average selling price in February. Last month, 7,291 transactions were reported through the Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®) within the TREB market area, representing a 77 per cent increase over the same month last year. The average price for these transactions was $431,509 - up 19 per cent compared to February 2009. |
